A 45-year-old man presented to the Emergency Room with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting, and yellowish discoloration of the eyes. On arrival:
On examination, he had diffuse abdominal tenderness.
Investigations revealed RBS – 350 mg/dL.
Further investigations:Amylase – 400 U/L, Lipase – 200 U/L
The patient was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. He required oxygen via HFNC at FiO₂ 40% for 36 hours to maintain a SpO₂ of 92%, which was weaned off by Day 2.
