Clinical Vignette

A 45-year-old man presented to the Emergency Room with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting, and yellowish discoloration of the eyes. On arrival:

• Airway: Patent
• Breathing: RR – 30/min; SpO₂ – 88% on room air
• Circulation: HR – 130/min; BP – 110/70 mmHg
• Disability: GCS – E4V5M6

On examination, he had diffuse abdominal tenderness.

Investigations revealed RBS – 350 mg/dL.
