Paracetamol Toxicity

History of ingestion of 20 grams:

41-year-old – Paramedic by occupation – Got admitted with History of deliberate self-harm in view of personal issues. History of ingestion of 20G of Paracetamol around 70 mins back. Approximate weight of the patient – 50 kg. No history of any co-ingestants. Patient self-reported to ER.

On Examination, his vitals are as follows

    • GCS – 15/15. Slightly anxious
    • Heart rate – 101/min
    • BP – 134/90 mmHg
    • SpO2 – 99%
    • No Jaundice
    • No clinical bleed, encephalopathy or any signs of overt liver toxicity
    • Basic blood investigations, Point of Care ABG, Capillary blood glucose levels were within normal limits
